Woman arrested in possession of drugs in Diani

A 36-year-old woman was on Friday arrested in possession of narcotics in Diani, Kwale County.

The suspect, identified as Hellen Saru Mwajombo was apprehended with two green gunny bags stuffed with rolls of cannabis by Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to the DCI, the woman led the officers to a nearby residence, where, upon a thorough search, multiple packages of narcotics, including a black bag and another green gunny bag, all filled with cannabis, were seized.

The detectives are also said to have impounded a white Nissan Note, registration number KDS 092K, suspected of being used in the drug trade.

“The DCI remains firmly committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks through relentless operations and multi-agency collaboration,” said the DCI.
