Two youths have been confirmed dead, with at least five others reportedly receiving treatment in various medical facilities following renewed clashes along the Angata Barikoi–Lolgororian border in Narok.
The violence is linked to ongoing confrontations between the
Kipsigis and the Maasai (Siria community) over cattle rustling along the
volatile stretch.
The renewed clashes, which began in late November, have so far claimed at least five lives.
According to Trans Mara South Sub-County
Commander Erik Telewa, the main flashpoints of the chaos are Sachangwan, Rotik
and Erongori.
Police have since been deployed to the area to quell the tension.
