One person killed, 11 injured in Fort Ternan road crash

One person has died following a road accident in Fort Ternan along the Londiani–Muhoroni Highway in Kericho County.

Eleven passengers were injured when two buses heading to Port Victoria collided with a stationary truck on the busy highway.

Some passengers alleged that the Legend bus driver was speeding and failed to slow down despite warnings.

“We are blaming the government for this road; iko na blackspots and inafaa ikue na bumps mingi,” said one of the passengers, Simon Opiyo.

“Nilienda Nairobi kuchukua viatu na ndio zinanilisha na ni kila kitu kwangu. Tumepata ajali hapa, viatu vimeibwa na ata sijui nitaanzia wapi na ni nani atanisaidia,” said another survivor, Rose Awiti.
