ODM leaders claim Uhuru using Linda Mwananchi group to divide party

Led by Minority Leader in the National Assembly, Junet Mohamed and Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, the leaders accused the Sifuna team of being used by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to divide the ODM party. 

The ODM leaders were in Kileleshwa Ward in Dagoretti North constituency for a women and boda boda empowerment programme, where they used the opportunity to blast the Linda Mwananchi team that they accuse of working for retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"They call themselves Linda Mwananchi, which citizen? Those ones are protecting Uhuru Kenyatta and his wealth... There is no such thing as Mwananchi there,” said Junet.

The leaders also trained their guns on DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, who they invited for a political contest in Nairobi.

"You, Rigathi Gachagua, are coming here to Nairobi to threaten us... This Nairobi belongs to ODM, and just let the election come so we can show you who this Nairobi really belongs to,” said Junet.

Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi on his part defended the empowerment programmes and millions of shillings channeled to the Nyanza region in the name of empowerment.

"Our people have not received that money for a long time... Now that they have received this money, people have started getting angry... We will dish out money,” Wandayi said.

"I am now the budget chairman, how can I fail to dish out money at a meeting? Won't I be a fake chairman,” said Sam Atandi, Chair Budget committee. 

Wandayi said the empowerment programmes will continue while officiating the empowerment in Dagoretti North that raised millions of shillings including donations from President William Ruto.

Elsewhere in Bungoma County, Kenya Kwanza leaders sustained an onslaught on the opposition and rallied the Western Kenya voters to re-elect President Ruto for the second term.
