Football Kenya Federation (FKF) mid-season transfer window officially opened on Monday, ushering in a busy period as clubs across the country move swiftly to reinforce their squads for the second half of the 2025–2026 season.
For Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and FKF Women’s Premier
League (WPL) sides, the window will run from January 5 to February 2, 2026.
National Super League (NSL) and Women’s National Super League (WNSL) teams will
begin their transfer business on January 12, with the window closing on
February 9. FKF Division One and Women’s Division One clubs will operate
between January 19 and February 16.
League debutants Nairobi United have wasted no time
strengthening their squad as they target a strong league finish and aim to
retain their Cup title. The club has confirmed several key additions following
the opening of the window, underlining their ambition in the league.
Experienced left-back Mustafa Kizza has already joined the
club after Nairobi United released several players. The former CF Montreal and
KCCA FC defender brings valuable top-flight experience, having previously
played in Canada alongside former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama. The
club believes Kizza’s pedigree will add stability and leadership to their
backline.
Nairobi United have also bolstered their midfield and attack
with the signing of John Njuguna from Tusker FC. The attacking midfielder is
expected to inject creativity, goals and assists into the side as the team
pushes for a strong second half of the campaign.
In addition, the club has secured the services of Roy Okal
from Sofapaka FC. The versatile utility player, who has also featured for
Mathare United, is expected to anchor the midfield and provide much-needed
experience at the highest level.
Elsewhere, record champions Gor Mahia are closing in on the
signing of Jackson Dwang from Posta Rangers, a move aimed at filling the
creative void left by Austin Odhiambo, who recently joined Lebanese giants
Nejmeh SC.
Defending champions Kenya Police FC have also strengthened,
unveiling three foreign signings: Malonga Briyock from Singida Black Stars,
Burkinabe forward Yves Koutiama from USFA, and defender Bowamba Jacques from
ASO Now.
With the transfer window now open, the coming weeks promise
heightened activity as clubs fine-tune their squads in pursuit of titles,
promotion, and survival.
