Six killed in accident on Londiani-Muhoroni road

Confirming the incident, Kericho County police commander James Ngetich said the accident happened after the bus, belonging to Uwezo Sacco, rammed into the rear of the Trailer under unclear circumstances.

Ngetich said the two vehicles were heading towards Kisumu direction.

Six people- five passengers and the bus driver died on the spot, while 30 passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to various hospitals in the county, including Londiani and Fortenan hospitals.

13 others sustained slight injuries, while others escaped unhurt and were treated and discharged.

Ngetich said they were yet to establish the circumstances which led to the accident, but investigations have been launched to establish the same.

He cautioned drivers to be careful while on the road so as to avoid causing unnecessary accidents which could be avoided.

The wreckage was towed to Fortenan police station.
