LSK announced that several key positions will fall vacant in March 2026, including those of president, vice-president, and three representatives of the general membership.
In a formal notice to members, the Society’s secretary stated that the impending vacancies are in line with the Law Society of Kenya Act, 2014, and the Law Society of Kenya (General) Regulations, 2020, which govern the election and tenure of office bearers.
Wanyama, a practicing advocate, is making a second attempt at clinching the LSK’s top seat, having unsuccessfully contested for the presidency in the last election.
More candidates are expected to present their papers in the coming days as the nomination window remains open.
The upcoming elections come at a time when the Law Society of Kenya continues to play a central role in national conversations on constitutionalism, judicial independence, access to justice, and the protection of fundamental rights.
Successful candidates will be expected to steer the Society through these ongoing legal and governance debates while advancing the welfare and professional interests of its members.
