Kenya Power restores power after hours-long nationwide blackout

Kenya Power restored power supply to all affected regions after a widespread outage on Wednesday night.
The power supplier, despite remaining tight-lipped on the cause of the blackout, announced on Thursday morning that the outage was restored in all areas plunged into darkness for hours.
The blackout affected customers in Nairobi, the Coast region, Mt. Kenya and parts of the Central Rift.
Power was restored in some areas by 11:32pm while technicians worked to fully supply power to parts of Nairobi and Coast region.
The outage was widely felt across Nairobi, with videos and photos seen by Citizen Digital showing large sections of the Central Business District plunged into darkness, while a handful of buildings remained lit using backup generators.
