A family in Mombasa is demanding justice following the death of their loved one, who was electrocuted while on duty at Moi International Airport.

The deceased, Jimmy Kitavi, was an employee of Eurocraft Company.

The incident occurred on January 2 at around 4pm while the father of three was carrying out his official duties.

A postmortem report has confirmed that Kitavi died as a result of electric shock.

"Kutoka huo wakati tumekuwa tukihangaika juu chini kujua ni nini kiini hasa kilichotokea huko kazini…vile tulifanya uchunguzi kiasi tulijua na pia tukafanya post mortem results zikatokea kuwa Kitavi alipigwa na shock ya stima huko kazini," said the deceased brother’s Paul Kitavi.

His employer, Eurocraft Company, says investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are still ongoing and maintains it will take appropriate action once the probe is concluded.

However, the family expresses fear that the matter could be swept under the rug, despite what they say are clear and established facts surrounding his death.
