Bomet: Police officer lures estranged wife to hotel room, strangles her to death

A police officer based in Busia is being pursued by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Bomet County after allegedly luring his estranged wife to a hotel room in Silibwet trading centre and strangling her to death.

According to Bomet County Criminal Investigations Officer Emmanuel Ogao, the officer convinced his wife to reconcile, secured a hotel room for the meeting, and is reported to have murdered her before abandoning her body at the scene.

The suspect, following the heinous act, allegedly called some of his relatives to inform them about the incident, after which the police were alerted and the body was subsequently discovered.

The deceased, a JSS teacher from the Olenguruone area of Nakuru County, had been staying with her parents in Bomet after leaving her matrimonial home in Olenguruone.

The scene has since been documented and the body of the deceased transported to the Longisa Hospital mortuary.
