AFC Leopards seized the summit of the FKF Premier League on
Wednesday, defeating Nairobi United 2-0 at Nyayo National Stadium to leapfrog
bitter rivals Gor Mahia.
The opener came in the 20th minute via an own goal, giving
Ingwe a first-half advantage. They sealed the win in the 70th minute with a
clinical strike, leaving Naibos unable to respond.
With the victory, AFC Leopards now sit atop the table with
27 points, just one ahead of Gor Mahia, who have two games in hand.
AFC Leopards have a chance to extend their lead when they
face Tusker away on Saturday, before Gor Mahia take on Shabana at Gusii Stadium
on Sunday.
Nairobi United remain ninth with 19 points, holding three games in hand to try and climb the standings.
