Police in Narok County are holding two suspected drug traffickers.

This is after they were found in possession of nine sacks of bhang. The officers who were acting on a tip-off intercepted their vehicle, a Nissan X-Trail, at Suswa Shopping Centre.

The driver of the vehicle, registration number KDP 353U, was identified as James Nyaikondo. He was arrested alongside his accomplice, Jackson Nyaikondo.

“A team from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) has apprehended two narcotics traffickers, seizing a significant haul of cannabis sativa,” police said.

The suspects are currently in custody pending their arraignment.

“Meanwhile, the seized vehicle and narcotic substances are being held as exhibits in the ongoing investigation,” police added.
