Man beaten to death by mob for attacking mother

A 38-year-old was found dead inside his house moments after surviving a ruthless mob attack in Runyenjes, Embu.

Area chief John Kareko confirmed the incident – and identified the deceased as Kariuki.

According to residents of Mukuria village in Kigumo, the deceased had beaten up his mother, knocking off her tooth.

A neighbour told Wananchi Reporting that locals were attracted by loud screams of the mother, from her compound, and rushed to her aid.

Police said that the deceased may have sustained fatal injuries following the mob attack.

A postmortem examination is expected to establish the exact cause of death as investigations continue.
