Police officers are trailing suspected peddlers following a swoop that saw 200 kilograms of bhang uprooted in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

A multi-agency security team conducted a successful operation in Kimnai Village, Chugor Sub Location, along Kerio River.

“The illegal crop had been discreetly cultivated inside a maize plantation,” police said.

According to police officers, efforts to trace and arrest the suspects are ongoing.

“The National Police Service remains committed to intensifying operations against drug-related crimes and urges the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, post, or security camp,” police said.
