The World Computer Hacker League (WCHL) 2025, a global
hackathon led by the ICP HUBS Network, has entered its National Round running
through August, attracting worldwide interest with 11,774 registrations and
1,554 project submissions.
The four-month initiative aims to spotlight top developer
talent in the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) ecosystem, foster global
collaboration, and drive Web3 innovation.
The National Round will see selected teams transform ideas
into functional MVPs, backed by weekly mentorship, workshops, and expert
feedback.
“We’re not just running a hackathon; we’re creating the
environment developers need to succeed,” said Emilio Canessa, Director of
Global Adoption at DFINITY Foundation.
The hackathon features five tracks—Bitcoin DeFi, AI, Fully
On-Chain Applications, Real-World Assets, and an Open Track—encouraging a wide
range of innovations from decentralized finance to gaming and governance.
Half of the Qualification Round projects advanced, with the
top 30% set to progress to the Regional Round before the Global Finale, where
the best teams will compete for top honors.
