TikTok has launched TikTok for Artists in Kenya, following
its global debut earlier this year.
The platform provides musicians, their labels, and teams
with data and tools to track their music performance, audience, and fan
engagement on the video-sharing platform to help them promote their work.
With daily-updated dashboards and analytics, TikTok for Artists gives information on songs’ views, posts, and creator engagements; posts’ views, likes, comments, shares, and completion rates; as well as a breakdown of follower demographics.
TikTok said artists will also get guides to the platform’s tools and features, and resources for building their careers.
The feature is available for all musicians with a certified
TikTok Artist Account, and artists can also grant access to their managers and
label teams, added the ByteDance-owned app.
At the same time, a new ‘Pre-Release’ tool enables artists to
create campaigns for upcoming albums and allows fans to pre-save them to streaming
platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
“We’re giving artists and their teams access to insights
that can help them engage their fans in more meaningful ways and grow their
careers globally,” said Toyin Mustapha, Head of Music Partnerships, UK, Ireland
and Sub-Saharan Africa at TikTok.
“This platform is about putting powerful, transparent data
in the hands of creators so they can make smarter decisions and connect with
the global TikTok community.”
