According to a traffic advisory issued by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), several key roads will be closed and diversions put in place to ease movement along Thika Road.
Motorists heading to Mwiki via Thika Road are advised to use Ruaka-Baba Dogo-Lucky Summer-Nairobi River-Mwiki route. Those heading to either Ruiru, Juja or Thika will use Kiambu Road at Exit 4, as there will be a roadblock at Muthaiga.
In turn, those heading to Nairobi CBD from either Thika, Juja or Ruiru are required to use the Northern Bypass or Kiambu Road to avoid the roadblock at Ruiru interchange.
Drivers from Githurai to Nairobi CBD will be diverted to the Githurai 44-Kiambu Road route to avoid traffic.
Motorists without a vehicle access pass and heading to Kasarani Stadium from Nairobi CBD will be required to use the service lane at Exit 7 and Exit 8.
Further, additional police officers will be deployed along Thika Road to ensure smooth traffic flow.
"The National Police Service continues to work collaboratively with relevant agencies and urges all motorists to cooperate with officers on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow," the statement read in part.
Kenya, which currently sits fourth in its group with six points, will seek to keep alive its faint qualification hopes with a win over the Scorpions.
As of now, Group leaders Ivory Coast (16 points), Gabon (15) and Burundi (10) are still on pace to automatically qualify for the World Cup tournament.
