Willilo arrives in Nairobi for Zonal boxing championship inspections

Lukelo Willilo, the Zone 3 Secretary General and
President of the Boxing Federation of Tanzania, arrived in Nairobi,
Kenya, to oversee the final preparations for the upcoming Zone 3 Elite Men’s
and Women’s Championship, set for October 2025.
He was welcomed by Anthony Ombok Otieno “Jamal,” president of Zone 3 and the Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK), along with BFK General Secretary David Munuhe and other senior officials.
After his
arrival, the group held a briefing to review key logistical details for the
event.
BFK General Secretary David Munuhe confirmed that today, the officials are scheduled to visit the championship venue to conduct a thorough inspection.
They will also evaluate the accommodation facilities
arranged by the host nation for all participating teams.
“It is true that Willilo has been in the country since yesterday, and today we will visit the championship venue, which is Kasarani Gymnasium, to conduct a thorough inspection.
"They will also evaluate
the accommodation facilities, among other itineraries." Said Munuhe.
The Zone 3 Championship will run from October 15 to 25, 2025, with 141 athletes confirmed from 10 countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Gabon, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, and Somalia.
The only remaining pending participant lists are from Congo and
Ethiopia.
This championship is expected to bring together
some of the best boxing talent from across the region, showcasing the spirit of
competition and camaraderie among African nations.
