Tusker boosts Kabeberi 7s as National Circuit returns to Nairobi

The penultimate leg of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit heads back to capital at the RFUEA Grounds on September 5-7 for the George Mwangi Kabeberi Sevens, with Kenya Breweries Limited’s flagship brand Tusker confirming a Ksh. 3 million sponsorships for the tournament.

Once again Tusker comes on board as the official alcoholic beverage and entertainment partner for the tournament, for the third year in a row continuing its long-standing partnership with the Mwamba Rugby Club, the official hosts of the tournament.

The sponsorship will go towards logistical support with the remainder directed towards enhancing fan experiences and powering the official after party.

Speaking during the announcement, Tusker Senior Brand Manager, Brigid Wambua said the Kabeberi leg was another opportunity for Rugby fans and enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful game with full matchday experience.

“Four legs down, we are proud to be here partnering with Mwamba RFC for the 35th edition of the Kabeberi Tournament. As Tusker, we’re proud to continue our support to ensure an unrivaled sporting experience where we can celebrate sport and music the Tusker way.”

Kabeberi 7s Tournament Director, Collins Nabiswa welcomed Tusker’s continued support and involvement, saying it would help boost preparations delivering a high-quality tournament for players and fans.

“We are delighted to have Kenya Breweries, through Tusker, back on board for the 35th Edition of the tournament. Preparations are in full swing, and their support will elevate the quality of the tournament exponentially.

“Our goal as always is to deliver an experience on and off the pitch to surpass our previous editions. Rugby fans attending should expect three days of exciting matches, strong competition and an overall memorable tournament at the RFUEA Grounds,” he said.

Following the release of the pools at the Embu 7s, In Division One, KCB RFC current circuit leaders, are grouped in Pool A with Nakuru RFC, Mean Machine and Invitees Mombasa RFC.

Pool B features Embu Tournament winners Strathmore Leos, Kenya Harlequins, Hosts Mwamba RFC and invited Impala RFC.

Pool C is led by Varsity sides, MMUST, Daystar Falcons, Catholics Monks and Homeboyz RFC whilst Pool D will see Menengai Oilers take on rivals Kabras Sugar with Embu RFC and Invited team Kisumu RFC.

The 35th edition promises three days of competitive rugby and entertainment at the Tusker beer garden, which will feature live music, activations and the official afterparty. The National Sevens Circuit will continue the final leg at Dala Sevens in Kisumu on  September 13-14.
