Reigning national champions Highway of Nairobi are set for a potentially-explosive football semi-final clash against western region giants Musingu at the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term Two Games in Kakamega County on Friday.

Nyanza representatives Agai Mixed School will face off with Rift Valley region kings St Joseph’s Jobo in the second semi-final clash with the final set for Saturday at Mumias Sports Complex.

The semi-finalists have already booked their tickets to the East Africa Games set to be held in Kenya from August 12.

Brendan Mwinamo-coached Musingu had to pull a 1-0 hard fought win against Agai to complete a perfect record in group stages after winning all their three matches.

Other favourites St Joseph’s Jobo thrashed Kirangari 3-1 to also complete a perfect record in group stage after winning all their three matches with the same margin.

Highway benefited after Kirangari head coach was shown a red card on Wednesday hence being knocked out technically on a disciplinary ground after both teams tied on four points and goals scored and conceded in their group.

In girls’ football, national champions Butere from Western will face Kobala from Nyanza in the first semi-final while other Western representatives Madira Girls will battle Nasokol from Rift Valley in the other semi-final.

Kobala got the best cards with a 3-0 win against Mwanambeyu while Nasokol shared the spoils in a one-all draw in their final group matches played in Kakamega School.

Butere girls beat Ruiru Girls 3-1 while Madira defeated Dagoretti from Nairobi 2-1 in their final group matches.

Butere coach Tobias Ojenga thanked God for a good show in the group stage which saw them finish with a hundred-percent record winning in all their three matches.

“The game was good and the girls said they won’t underestimate their opponents despite having qualified already.

“The game was good and the girls played under instructions to execute the gameplan that we gave them. We now focus on the semifinal match tomorrow (Friday)”, said Ojenga.
