The evergreen Par 72 Railways Golf Club is set to welcome over 200 golfers for the eighteenth leg of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour on Saturday.

Fresh off a spectacular event last weekend in Sigona, the regional tourney is expected to tee off at 6:30am for the morning action before the afternoon tee time that has been slated for noon.

Speaking ahead of the competition, the Railways Golf Club Captain, John Kamenyi said they expect a huge turnout on Saturday.

"This series has become instrumental in allowing thousands of golf enthusiasts to hone their skills and enjoy themselves on the green. We have worked hard to maintain the course; therefore, golfers can expect a good show,” Kamenyi noted.

So far, the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour has reached over 2,000 players across the East African region and over 1,000 juniors through the golf clinics that ran concurrently with the tournament.

In Kenya, the competition has been to 10 counties, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Laikipia, Nandi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kiambu, Machakos and Kericho.

Regionally, tournaments have been held in Uganda and Burundi. Tanzania and Rwanda are expected to host their events before the grand finale.

“In the last two decades, we have spent over KSh. 800 million in different golf competitions that drive socio-economic transformation, foster inclusivity, and promote regional unity, reinforcing our belief in the power of sports to bring people together and create a lasting impact.

"Once again, we are at the Railways Golf Club to enable golfers to enjoy the sport and strengthen their skills,” noted KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru.

The club that will produce the winning team during the tour’s grand finale on December 5 will receive KSh. 1 million cash reward towards a sustainability initiative that they are currently undertaking. Additionally, the four-ball will be sponsored to participate in a prestigious golf tournament.

The Bank also continues to plant trees in the different golf clubs the series is visiting as part of its larger plan to embed sustainability at the heart of the regional competition.

So far, over 3,000 trees have been planted, highlighting KCB’s efforts to address climate change in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
