With only two rounds left in the National Sevens Circuit, teams will be looking to maximize their performances and strengthen their positions on the overall standings.
Pool A promises fireworks as 2025 Christie, Driftwood Sevens champions, and overall circuit leaders KCB RFC begin their chase for a third title of the season.
The bankers, fresh from clinching their eighth Christie crown and topping the standings on 63 points, will lock horns with Daystar Falcons, who impressed by reaching the Christie quarterfinals, as well as Mwamba RFC and an invitational side.
In Pool B, second-placed Strathmore Leos, the Embu Sevens defending champions, headline the group.
The Leos, currently on 58 points, will face a tricky test against Kabras Sugar, who endured a disappointing run at Christie Sevens, where they crashed out in the group stages to finish ninth.
They are joined by Kabete Stallions, the newly promoted side who lifted the Christie Division Two title after a convincing 22–0 win over Makueni RFC, and an invitational team.
Pool C will be spearheaded by Menengai Oilers, who sit third on the log with 47 points after reaching the Christie final.
The Oilers, showing consistent form this season, will battle with Nondescripts, Nakuru RFC, and another invited side as they aim to stay in the title race.
Pool D also serves up an enticing contest with Catholic Monks, last year’s Embu Sevens runners-up, leading the charge.
They will take on Kenya Harlequins, MMUST RFC, and an invitational side in what is expected to be a fiercely contested pool.
With three legs already completed — Driftwood, Prinsloo, and Christie — the Embu Sevens will be crucial for teams to assert themselves before the final leg.
The battle for the circuit crown remains wide open, but all eyes will be on KCB, Strathmore, and Oilers as the race intensifies this weekend.
