Kenya Police Bullets will relish home advantage as Nairobi prepares to host the 2025 CECAFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers from September 4 to 16.

The reigning FKF Women’s Premier League champions were drawn in Group A alongside Denden FC of Eritrea and Kampala Queens of Uganda.

The draw ceremony, held in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, featured a special appearance by Kenyan starlet and legend Esse Akida, who helped unveil the groups.

Her presence underscored the significance of the qualifiers for Kenyan football and the growing profile of women’s football across the region.

For Police Bullets, the mission is clear — redemption. This will be their second consecutive attempt at reaching the continental stage after last year’s heartbreak in Addis Ababa.

In 2024, Beldine Odemba’s side battled all the way to the final only to fall 1-0 to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), courtesy of a solitary goal that denied them a historic qualification.

This time, with the roar of their home fans behind them, Police Bullets are determined to turn the tide.

Their preparations have been boosted by full compliance with CAF requirements, after the FKF First Instance Board (FIB) granted the club a CAF licence, confirming them as Kenya’s official representative in the 2025/26 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Group B will be headlined by defending champions CBE of Ethiopia, who are joined by Top Girls Academy of Burundi and Rayon Sports WFC of Rwanda.

The Ethiopians are looking to defend the crown they captured last year, cementing their reputation as the region’s most formidable women’s side.

Group C, meanwhile, is topped by JKT Queens of Tanzania who won the league on goal difference toppling Simba Queens. They will face Yei Joint Stars of South Sudan and JKU Princess of Zanzibar.

The stakes are high across all pools, with the winner earning a coveted ticket to represent the CECAFA region at the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.

For Kenya Police Bullets, this year’s edition is more than just another outing — it is a chance to make history on home soil, cheered on by passionate home fans.
