Four clubs — Naivas FC, Migori Youth, MOFA, and Mombasa
United — extended their perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign National Super
League amidst intense fight at the early stages - each securing back-to-back
wins to remain unbeaten.
MOFA edged Vihiga United 1–0 in a closely contested duel,
while Migori Youth mirrored the same scoreline against FC Talanta. In Mombasa,
Mombasa United overcame Fortune Sacco 2–1 to maintain their fine form. Naivas
FC, under the guidance of Coach Elvis Ayani, also kept their winning run alive
with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over MCF.
Elsewhere, Equity FC produced one of the standout
performances of the weekend, cruising past Kabati Youth 3–1. Nzoia FC battled
to a 2–2 draw with Mwatate United in a pulsating encounter, while Kibera Black
Stars narrowly defeated Kisumu All Stars 1–0. Nairobi City Stars edged Luanda
Villa by a solitary goal, and 3K managed a slim 1–0 win over Darajani Gogo.
Nzoia head coach Charles Odero lauded his team’s fighting
spirit after salvaging a point in their end-to-end clash with Mwatate United.
On the individual front, Nzoia Sugar striker Felix Seda has
made an explosive start to the season. He currently leads the NSL scoring
charts with three goals — two in the opener against 3K and one in the draw with
Mwatate United. Close behind him is Syphas Otieno of Migori Youth, who has
netted twice so far, while Fidel Madiela (Mombasa United) and Dylan Wakake
(Luanda Villa) are among several players tied on one goal each.
Seda expressed delight at his strong start, saying he hopes
to maintain his form and stay ahead in the race for the Golden Boot.
Meanwhile, Fortune Sacco and MCF are still searching for
their first points of the season after back-to-back losses. Fortune Sacco’s 2–1
defeat to Mombasa United and MCF’s 1–0 loss to Naivas have left both teams rooted
to the bottom of the table.
At the summit, Mombasa United, Naivas FC, Migori Youth, and
MOFA are level on six points apiece, separated only by goal difference.
The NSL action resumes next weekend, with teams aiming to
sustain momentum, climb the standings, and turn around their early-season
fortunes.
