Kinale High were simply untouchable in their pool matches, treating fans to a rugby masterclass with back-to-back wins. They opened their campaign by dismantling Kimobo Secondary 52-0 before beating Igoji 47-0.
On the other side, defending champions St Joseph’s Girls Kitale wasted no time in reminding the rest of the field why they lifted the trophy last year. JOGA began with a composed 22-0 victory over Eregi before shifting gears to dismantle Gituamba 47-0 in their second match.
Another standout performance came from Nyanza region’s Sigoti Secondary School, which edged out Gituamba 15-10 in a tightly contested opener, then followed it up with a 10-0 win over Eregi. The results put Sigoti firmly in the conversation as one of the top challengers in the girls’ division.
Western Kenya also had something to smile about, as Mwira Secondary delighted the home crowd with a dominant 36-0 win against Karen C, announcing their intentions in style.
Coastal region representatives Shimba Hills brushed aside St Igoji 29-0, Paul Harris thrashing Mbagathi 31-0, and St Theresa narrowly edging Madira 12-5 in one of the day's more competitive fixtures.
