Kabras falter, KCB dominate Christie 7s

Kabras began brightly, brushing aside Uganda’s Ruga Ruga Select 34–5 in their opener, but the wheels came off in the second round when they fell 17–12 to Daystar Falcons.
The Sugarmen’s fate was sealed in the final group match as they were edged 5–0 in the Rai derby.
The defeat locked them out of the main cup quater finals finishing third in the pool with just one win from three outings.
It was a stunning fall for Kabras, who lifted the trophy in the previous edition and came into the tournament as one of the hot favourites.
Daystar Falcons who were the undrdogs in pool C dabbed 'group of death' topped the group ahead of Menengai Oilers to book their ticket to the main cup quatrfinals.
Meanwhile, KCB were in imperious form in Pool D, sweeping aside every opponent on their path.
The bankers dispatched Nondescripts 37–12, thrashed KU Blak Blad 38–0, and sealed their dominance with a hard-fought 19–12 victory over Mwamba RFC.
They finished top of their group with three wins out of three with Nondescripts coming second in group D.
Strathmore Leos also impressed in Pool A, bouncing back from a narrow 19–17 opening loss to Zetech Oaks with victories over Mombasa RFC and hosts Kenya Harlequin.
Their 26–22 win over Quins in the final round proved decisive, sending the students into the main Cup quarters alongside the hosts.
KCB and Strathmore Leos are tied on 41 points at the top of the National Sevens Circuit with the bankers keen to beat the students who outclassed them in Nakuru at the Prinsloo 7s.
