The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has confirmed the Division One pool draws for the 58th edition of the Christie Sevens, set to take place on August 16–17, 2025, at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi. The tournament marks the third leg of the National Sevens Circuit.

This year’s Christie 7s follows intense competition in the opening two legs — Driftwood 7s in Mombasa and Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru — and is expected to play a key role in shaping the title race.

Strathmore Leos, the current circuit leaders with 41 points alongside KCB, head into the Christie 7s full of confidence after securing back-to-back podium finishes and most recently defending their Prinsloo 7s crown in Nakuru.

They headline Pool A, which includes Kenya Harlequins, Zetech Oaks, and an Invitational side. With Leos in dominant form, this group is expected to produce thrilling matchups as the champions aim to extend their lead.

Pool B features an exciting blend of tradition and ambition, with Catholic Monks, Nakuru RFC, and Impala RFC drawn together alongside Invitational 2. All three clubs will look to rebound from mixed outings in the earlier legs and strengthen their standing in the circuit.

Pool C stands will feature the Rai Derby, which will feature heavyweights Menengai Oilers and Kabras Sugar. Daystar Falcons and Invitational 3 complete the pool, setting the stage for blockbuster encounters.

Kabras, the defending Christie 7s champions after edging out hosts Kenya Harlequins 17-12 in last year’s final, will be keen to defend their crown and climb up the standings from seventh place.

In Pool D, KCB Rugby, who have only lost one game and winners of the Driftwood 7s, will clash with Mwamba RFC, Nondescripts, and Prinsloo Division 2 winners Blak Blad.

The Bankers are coming off a disappointing outing in Nakuru, where they were humbled by Strathmore in the final, and they’ll be looking to bounce back and reignite their title charge.

With the RFUEA Grounds set to host one of the most historic and prestigious tournaments on the circuit, fans can expect a rugby spectacle full of passion, intensity, and elite competition.

The Christie 7s continues to be a pivotal fixture in the sevens calendar and this year’s edition could reshape the leaderboard as teams jostle for supremacy.
