The stage is set for a thrilling climax to the 2025 National Sevens Circuit this weekend as Kisumu hosts the much-anticipated Dala Sevens at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo, from September 13–14.
With KCB RFC and Strathmore Leos locked in a fierce battle for the overall crown, all eyes will be on Kisumu as the circuit’s final leg promises explosive rugby action and vibrant fan energy.
“The Dala Sevens has grown to become one of the most competitive and colorful tournaments in the country, and this year will be no different. We are ready to host the rugby family in Kisumu for an unforgettable weekend,” said Kisumu RFC Chairman, Gabriel Ouma, as the lakeside city braces for the grand finale of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit.
Speaking on the preparations, Kisumu RFC Chairman, Gabriel Ouma, expressed confidence in delivering a memorable experience both on and off the pitch.
“The Dala Sevens has grown to become one of the most competitive and colorful tournaments in the country, and this year will be no different. We are ready to host the rugby family in Kisumu for an unforgettable weekend.
"Tusker’s support has played a big role in elevating the quality of the tournament, and we expect fans to turn out in large numbers to enjoy world-class rugby and the unique Dala Sevens atmosphere.”
This year’s tournament has received a boost from Tusker which has confirmed a Ksh. 3 million sponsorship in support of Dala Sevens.
The partnership builds on Tusker’s longstanding commitment to championing Kenyan rugby and celebrating the passion and resilience of local athletes.
“Rugby holds a special place in the hearts of Kenyans, and Dala Sevens has always been a highlight of the season,” said Keza Mpyisi, Tusker Brand Sports Manager.
“We are proud to stand with Kisumu RFC and the wider rugby fraternity as the circuit reaches its finale. For Tusker, it’s not just about supporting the game, but about bringing fans together to celebrate excellence, talent, and the spirit of Kenyan sport.”
As it stands, KCB Rugby lead the circuit with 104 points and require only a semi-final berth to secure the championship, while Strathmore Leos (95 points) will be banking on a perfect run at Dala to keep their hopes alive.
