Leopards, who finished sixth last season, once again fell short of the standards required to be crowned champions. But despite the prolonged drought, Mulindi insists the 12-time champions are finally on the right track.
This optimism comes even after the bitter loss of team captain Lewis Bandi, who crossed over to fierce rivals Gor Mahia ahead of the new campaign.
“Central defence was a position we needed to strengthen, and we have done a tremendous job in that area. We’ve already found Bandi’s replacement, so those worried about his departure should not be alarmed,” Mulindi said, assuring fans that preparations remain firmly on course.
He further revealed that a new striker, tasked with delivering goals, will soon be unveiled.
“We are ready for the season. The striker who will be scoring goals is in the pipeline, and soon you will see him. We are going for the best, and only the best will do if Leopards are to finally deliver the success our fans have waited for all these years,” he added.
“There are already new players in camp, and others are on the way. But we will carefully assess all available options to ensure only the best join the team. Our goal is to improve on what we already have and compete strongly for all titles on offer this season,” he noted.
