The appointment, announced through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 10945 dated 8th August 2025, will see Shallow serve another three-year term at the helm of the NDMA Board.
The decision is being hailed in Wajir North as a strong signal of the president’s commitment to recognizing and empowering leaders from historically marginalized regions such as Northern Kenya.
Community members have pledged their full political support for President Ruto’s re-election, noting that the reappointment strengthens the bond between the head of state and the people of Wajir North. Many view it as a strategic acknowledgement of the region’s contribution to national development and its unique challenges, particularly in combating the effects of drought.
The development also comes barely a month after Shallow officially declared his bid for the Wajir North parliamentary seat, a move that is now expected to gain further momentum with his renewed national leadership role.
For Wajir North, the reappointment is being celebrated as both a victory for the community and a boost to the region’s visibility in national decision-making.
