Suspected Pakistani swindler escapes mob attack after police intervention in Nakuru

A Pakistani national is in police custody after being accused of swindling members of the public through fraudulent schemes. 

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ahmad Shabbir was arrested after officers received a report of a man about to be lynched an irate mob in Nakuru.

Swift action from Nakuru North sub-county officers saved Shabbir from the mob, while two of his accomplices managed to escape.

DCI added that Shabbir and his accomplices had been linked to past swindling cases and he had been released on bond.

He was ordered to report back to Ahero police station on August 20, 2025, after been released on charges of obtaining money by false deceits.

Shabbir will remain in custody pending arraignment as the detectives intensify a manhunt on his accomplices who are still at large.
