A suspect on the run who was ferrying 160 litres of illicit alcohol was arrested on Sunday in Bungoma County.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers
from Bumula Police Station discovered an abandoned vehicle that had veered into
a ditch while on a routine patrol near Mateka Market.
They conducted a search on the car and found the brew concealed
in eight 20-litre jerricans.
The discovery prompted a manhunt for the suspect who was
later apprehended.
NPS noted that the suspect will remain in custody as the
vehicle remains impounded at Bumula Police Station.
