Detectives attached to Sotik Police Station in Bomet County have arrested a suspected drug trafficker caught with 350 kilograms of bhang valued at approximately Ksh.7 million.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the officers flagged down a Toyota Isis while on a routine patrol along the Sotik-Kaplong Highway.

The driver, however, abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene, raising suspicions among the officers.

The officers quickly searched the vehicle and discovered the contraband stuffed inside seven sacks.

Determined to bring the suspect to book, the detectives launched a manhunt for the driver and following forensic leads, they trailed him to his hideout in Kibra, Nairobi.

The driver, identified as Diab Asman Bhakit, was arrested and escorted to Sotik Police Station, where he underwent processing as he awaits arraignment in court.

The seized narcotics and the suspect's vehicle were subsequently transported to the Station for processing as evidence.
