Schneider Electric has introduced its next-generation PrismaSeT range of power distribution switchboards to the East African market.

The company says the range, which includes the PrismaSeT G and PrismaSeT P models, is well suited to region’s growing demand for future-ready energy management across key sectors like manufacturing, commercial real estate, data centres, hospitals, and critical infrastructure.

The PrismaSeT G is a compact wall-mounted or floor-standing unit, rated up to 630A and 25kA, making it ideal for mid-sized commercial and light industrial applications.

The larger PrismaSeT P model is floor-standing, rated up to 4,000A and 100kA, a powerful solution for energy-intensive industries, large facilities, and data centres.

“East African businesses increasingly require smart, scalable, and safe electrical infrastructure to support rapid growth and ensure business continuity,” says Geraldine Sande, Channel Sales Leader at Schneider Electric East Africa.

“The PrismaSeT range offers a robust, modular switchboard system that helps our customers improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and adapt easily as their energy needs evolve.”

Schneider adds that the PrismaSeT switchboard system is fully type-tested to ensure high reliability and operator safety, a critical factor in sectors like healthcare and hospitality, where uninterrupted power is essential.

With a built-in cloud connectivity, facility managers and maintenance teams can access real-time data on power usage, receive smart alarms, monitor system health, and detect voltage loss, all from a connected dashboard.

“This connectivity enables more proactive energy management, supports preventative maintenance, and gives facility managers the tools to reduce operating costs and energy waste,” explains Sande.

The switchboard can be equipped with an AI-driven fire prevention solution which monitors the chemical changes in air inside the switchboard, identifying early signs of cable overheating before traditional temperature sensors can detect a problem.
