President William Ruto has dismissed criticism from the opposition, describing his detractors as politicians lacking a clear development agenda.
Speaking at State House, Nairobi, after meeting supporters from Kiambu County, President Ruto accused critics of focusing solely on smear campaigns against the government rather than offering constructive alternatives.
The president reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his
administration’s promises and said he would not be distracted by what he termed
as political noise.
During the meeting, President Ruto committed to ensuring the
Kiambu region benefits from his government.
He promised to deliver the largest markets' development, including
30 modern markets in Kiambu County alone, at a cost of Ksh.4.5 billion and to
build 15,000 housing units in the county at a total of Ksh.30 billion
“We are also breaking new ground in infrastructure. A new 10,000-seater stadium will be built in Thika town. We will also complete the 240km Mau Mau roads in the Kiambu section, and dual the Muthaiga-Ndumberi road at Ksh.22 billion and the Northern Bypass for which we have allocated Ksh.20 billion,” Ruto said.
