Police bust electronics theft racket in Mihang’o, recover over 300 phones

Acting on intelligence, the officers tracked a mobile phone that was reported stolen, leading them to Breeze Point Apartments in Turin Court, located in the area, where they arrested two suspects.

Police officers stationed at the Embakasi Police Station have foiled a racket responsible for the theft of electronics in the Mihang’o area, Kayole Sub-County.

Acting on intelligence, the officers tracked a mobile phone that was reported stolen, leading them to Breeze Point Apartments in Turin Court, located in the area, where they arrested two suspects.

On further searching the premises, the officers uncovered several electronic devices that included the stolen mobile phone that was being tracked, 321 other mobile phones and various mobile phone covers, 7 laptops and an assortment of laptop chargers, a music system, and two speakers.

The arrested suspects are currently in police custody pending processing and arraignment with the recovered items being secured as exhibits in the facility as well.

The National Police Service further commended members of the public who assisted police officers with the requisite information that led to the nabbing of the two suspects and have further urged them to continue cooperating with the police and providing information to aid in the clamp down of criminal activities.
