Narok: Suspect arrested after brothers beat up pregnant sister for rejecting their 'preferred' husband

Police have arrested one suspect in connection with an
incident where a young pregnant woman was assaulted by four men armed with
sticks in Enkareta, Narok County.
Footage of the brutal assault surfaced online, prompting
public outrage.
The lady was brutally assaulted by four men believed to be her
brothers for defying her family on the choice of husband, according to police
reports.
"Tulipopata hii habari, tuliweza kushirikiana kwa ukaribu
na National Administrative Officers, chief, DCC ndiposa tukaweza kufanikwa
kupata mahali alikuwa amepelekwa. Tafadhali tuweze kupeana habari kwa maafisa
wowote wa serikali na haki itaweza kutendeka,” said Narok Central OCPD John
Momanyi.
Narok County Government Chief Communication Officer Julius
Kuyioni added: "As we speak tunashukuru pia County Commissioner wa Narok

The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Narok Referral
Hospital, with police still pursuing the remaining suspects involved in the
case.
In the viral video, the victim,
identified as Lepeita, was attacked by her own brothers after she chose to
marry a man they disapproved of. Instead, they attempted to force her into
marrying another man from a family of their choosing.
Lepeita is seen helplessly enduring the assault as her mother
desperately pleads with the men to spare her, but her appeals fall on deaf
ears.
