In a statement on Sunday, MP Jhanda said that the opposition is doomed to fail in the 2027 General Election and plans to oust President William Ruto remain slim.
He faulted the political faction for not availing opportunities for the youth, accusing it of employing remedies of the old political guard.
"By parading Mukhisa Kituyi as spokesperson, the so-called United Opposition has confirmed what we already knew — It’s a tribal cartel with zero room for youth or fresh ideas. The cracks are showing early, and come 2027 most of them will be lining up behind President Ruto," he noted.
The legislator further argued that the opposition is only trying to discredit efforts by President Ruto to advance his administration's transformation agenda.
"The opposition is trying to topple a President who has delivered real economic wins in just 3 years. No plan, no chance," he added.
This comes as the opposition plans to announce its official outfit name and symbol, ahead of the by-elections in November and the 2027 General Election.
The team, led by Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, is expected to officially launch their official coalition name on Monday next week, complete with a symbol and slogan.
However, Kituyi's appointment has been met with rejection from DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala.
Gacgagua has however dispelled rumours of cracks in the opposition, maintaining that he has held talks with Malala and the team will remain united.
