Esther Akinyi says her tents and plastic chairs that were destroyed during the fracas were hired by the county government of Migori.
One year after she lost the items that were her main source of livelihood, Akinyi says she is yet to get compensation from the County Government of Migori.
The businesswoman says she has knocked several county offices looking for compensation but her efforts have remained futile for the past one year.
Akinyi says she used a loan to buy the tents and chairs and now she cannot even service the loan.
She is also not able to meet other financial obligations that include paying school fees for the children in college and secondary school.
In a rejoinder, Migori County Chief Officer for Finance John Odoyo Achuora asked the businesswoman to remain patient as she would be paid her money in due course. Achoura said they have previously engaged her and assured her payment.
