Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku argues that Kenya’s Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is poised to be Kenya’s Head of State in coming years.

“The deputy president, Prof. Kithure Kindiki is a man who will one day be the president of the republic of Kenya and is a very diligent person,” Ruku opined during a panel discussion on K24 TV.

Here, Ruku heaped praise on the deputy president for his role in spearheading economic empowerment forums, an initiative by the Kenya Kwanza administration aimed at providing financial assistance to a section of Kenyans.

According to the Public Service boss, Kindiki’s rise to the deputy president’s seat, despite being from a minority community, shows endearment for the top seat.

“Prof Kithure Kindiki is extremely diligent, and he is a very committed Kenyan and for him to have come from a small community to be the DP of Kenya, that tells you the spirit that Prof Kithure Kindiki carries,” said Ruku.

Ruku has further called out those criticizing the Kindiki-led empowerment forums, saying they lack innovative strategies to match the Deputy President.

“And for someone to say that an empowerment program that Prof. Kithure Kindiki is championing that the money is coming from sources which are not known, its only that that person is not very innovative, doesn’t think outside the box, even without the box,” remarked Ruku.

He also called out former Chief Justice David Maraga who had earlier remarked that the funds being distributed in the forums were proceeds of corruption.

Kenya Kwanza allied leaders have recently hailed Kindiki for leading the empowerment programmes.

Legislators from the Rift Valley region praised Kindiki and the Kenya Kwanza government for the economic empowerment, affordable housing and youth initiatives.

The leaders also lashed out at former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of engaging in “cheap politics” and that he lacked substantive development agendas.
