Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has praised the Kenya Kwanza-ODM partnership for stabilizing the country and allowing the government to serve all Kenyans without any form of discrimination.

The DP stated that the bipartisanship shown by the two major parties since striking a deal to work together has steadied the nation enabling it to focus on service delivery and national development.

“Our country requires bipartisan consensus building to deal with serious and heavy national issues.

We need bipartisan efforts to heavy-lift serious national issues like those captured in the 10-point agenda including the fight against corruption, ethnic bias and other vices. Without bipartisan effort, no single side can heavy-lift these serious national issues,” DP noted.

The Deputy President spoke on Monday during the Kenya-Kwanza and ODM Parliamentary Group meeting at KCB Leadership Centre in Karen, Nairobi.

The meeting was graced by President Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who threw their weight behind the political corporation challenging the lawmakers to rise up to the occasion in playing their roles as enshrined in the Constitution.

“We have a nation to look after and protect. We have chosen to protect the nation by coming together. I commend Raila and ODM for standing up to be counted when the country needed leaders to stand up for Kenya. It may have been popular to do the opposite but they chose to stand up for Kenya,” President Ruto noted.

Further, Prof. Kindiki appreciated the efforts by the President and ODM leader Raila Odinga for showing great leadership in agreeing to work together for the good of the nation.

He said the two leaders had helped achieve what would not have been done by a single political outfit as it requires working together to realize.

“We must celebrate and acknowledge the visionary leadership of President Ruto and visionary leadership and statesmanship of our elder brother Raila Odinga

We appreciate your leadership and vision. You have shown us that elections and politics should not undermine the collective interest, stability and progress of our nation. You have made us understand that individual ambitions should not stand between us and our country’s stability, progress and sustainability,” DP emphasized.

He called on younger politicians to learn from them as he highlighted the importance of supporting national parties instead of falling back to ethnic outfits pushing sectarian interests.

“For those who have felt to be in the periphery, it is possible in a large party to realize your dreams, potential and skills. Let us look to build national parties as opposed to sectarian outfits,” he indicated.
