A group of legislators styling themselves as the Kenya Moja Third Force, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, have accused President William Ruto of insincerity in his declared war on corruption.

Speaking during a Sunday church service in Embakasi East, the lawmakers claimed the President was using Parliament as a scapegoat while protecting senior figures in the Executive.

“Today, all fingers are being pointed at Parliament. Yet we know where corruption thrives,” Senator Sifuna said.

Babu Owino was more direct, alleging widespread graft across government ministries. “When you walk, corruption walks with you. Look to your left, there’s corruption in the education ministry. Look behind you, and you see broad-based corruption,” he said.

The MPs insisted that if the President truly intended to tackle corruption, arrests and prosecutions should follow. “Even in State House there is corruption. If you say MPs are corrupt, then also arrest those who pay the bribes,” said Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze.

The Kenya Moja alliance claims to command the support of at least 70 MPs drawn from across the political divide, positioning themselves as a new political force opposed to President Ruto’s administration.

“We are like Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego. We will not bow to Nebuchadnezzar,” Sifuna declared, urging Kenyans to support what he described as a fight for accountability.
