During the session, he was pressed to respond to questions regarding early 2027 campaigns, which many perceive to be distracting him from essential service delivery.
“Well, the question on politicians, I don't know who is going to answer, but it is something for us to think about. You are right,” he said.
Describing elections as a one-day event, Ruto called on players in the political space to take heed of the same and ‘do other things.
“Kenya is work in progress every day. So, I think you are speaking to many of us in very profound ways that, we have a country to mind,” Ruto said in response.
The President also pledged to assist Kenyans working abroad by ensuring that no citizen is forced to seek employment or work opportunities while holding a student or tourist visa.
“No Kenyan who is going to work outside is going to travel using a student visa or a tourist visa. We need to have a record so that if they are in distress, if they are doing odd jobs that have an indignity, the way you have said, we can help them.”
Additionally, Ruto held discussions with Tony Blair Institute to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
He also emphasized Kenya's commitment to decarbonizing its manufacturing sector, bringing the country closer to achieving green energy goals.
“Everybody globally is looking for low carbon products, decarbonizing manufacturing, and our products. We are at a very good advantage in Kenya because even if we process our goods and services, we can be the destination for green energy. And with green energy, you end up with green products,” Ruto said.
