The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will resume the continuous voter registration exercise from Monday, September 29, 2025 across the country.
In a statement, the Commission said the exercise will target Kenyans who have attained the age of 18 and those who have not previously registered as voters, as well as citizens who wish to transfer their registration details to different polling stations.
“The Commission notifies the public that continuous voter registration will resume on Monday, 29th September 2025, at constituency IEBC offices and all Huduma Centres countrywide,” the statement read in part.
“Voter registration will take place at all Constituency IEBC
offices and designated County Assembly Wards. Mobile registration teams will
also be deployed to reach remote and marginalised areas to ensure inclusivity."
Registered voters will also get an opportunity to apply for the transfer of their voting details by physically visiting constituency offices
with their identification documents.
Kenyans living abroad will be able to register at designated
IEBC centres within embassies, high commissions, and consulates in countries
where the electoral body is accredited.
The Commission further noted that continuous voter
registration will be suspended 60 days before the next General Election in line
with the law.
“The Commission calls upon all eligible Kenyans who are
yet to register as voters to take advantage of this opportunity to do so and
participate in the electoral processes,” the statement adds.
According to IEBC, the voter registration drive is part of ongoing preparations to enhance electoral participation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
