Gov't prepared to maintain peace in by-elections; says PS Omollo

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to conduct by-election in a number of constituencies and wards including Kasipul and Ugunja parliamentary seats.
Omollo says the ministry of Interior has put measures in place to ensure the by-elections slated for November 27,2025 are conducted peacefully devoid of violence or political intolerance.
Speaking at Kabunde Social Hall during NYOTA program sensitization forum, Omollo said that the ministry will support the IEBC to ensure credible processes.
Omollo urged voters in Kasipul and other constituencies where by-election will be conducted to maintain peace and be tolerant during the campaign period.
He further called upon all the aspirants who are yet to be cleared by IEBC to conduct a peaceful campaign.
