Fierce Ruto critic Buzeki makes U-turn, joins UDA party

Businessman and politician Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop, alias
Buzeki, has officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Buzeki, who has been a fierce critic of President William
Ruto’s administration, unsuccessfully ran for Uasin Gishu governorship
twice.
He was on Thursday received at UDA headquarters, where he lauded
President Ruto’s administration as transformative.
"Hatutaki kuwa fence sitters. Tunataka kuja penye uchumi
imekolea. Na hatujakuja usiku, tumekuja mchana. Sasa hakuna kucheza home and
away. Tunacheza home. Ni fire si fire. KBB ni Kiprop Bundotich Buzeki," he
said.
"Tunakukaribisha hapa ni two term na sasa venye Buzeki
amefika itakuwa two term tena,” said Hassan Omar, UDA Secretary General.
During the 2022 general elections, Buzeki unsuccessfully vied
for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race, garnering 127,013 votes against
incumbent Jonathan Bii who got 214,036.
At the time, he ran as an independent candidate under the
moniker ‘Uongozi ni sera.’
