Female suspect in possession of stolen firearm arrested

Police officers in Garissa County have apprehended a female suspect who was found in possession of a firearm stolen during a violent robbery reported at Garissa Police Station on 5th August 2025.
According to a police report, an operation led by Deputy RCIO of the North Eastern Region led officers to Madogo area to recover the firearm.
Acting on intelligence, the team escorted the suspect to her residence in Bula Kartasi Estate, leading to the recovery of a Glock pistol with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition.
"Also recovered were the complainant’s wallet, holding his national identity card and his wife’s ID card, a Kenya Police Service Certificate of Appointment, military identification card, smock jacket, police belt, and several swords among other items," said the National Police Service (NPS).
The suspect will remain in police custody pending processing and arraignment in court.
