Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has affirmed the government’s commitment to develop every part of the country, promising fair distribution of national resources.

Prof. Kindiki said the administration’s main agenda is to ensure development projects reach every section of the country, including those previously marginalized.

The DP on Friday graced Tiaty Economic Empowerment engagement at Chemolingot town in the constituency where he avowed the rolling out of key projects geared at improving the lives of the residents.

“The President has promised to ensure equal development in every part of the country and especially in areas that have been marginalized for a long time.

This country is one and we must unite and ensure every part gets its right of development. Every part must get its fair share of roads, electricity connection, water, markets among others,” DP noted.

For successful realization of development, peace and unity is critical, DP indicated, asking the residents to support all the efforts for lasting peace in the region.

“I have been here several times on security matters. I thank the people of Tiaty for agreeing to work with us in pursuit of peace and unity of the nation,” he said.

While appreciating the progress made in beefing up security in the North Rift, the second-in-command said the administration will not drop the ball in search for peaceful coexistence among communities in the region.

In line with the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda that targets national development, the government is funding numerous projects in Tiaty and the whole of Baringo County.

Presently, 12 modern markets are underway including one in Chemolingot that will cost Sh73 million and another in Barpelo, both in Tiaty constituency.

The constituency is also a beneficiary of last-mile electricity connection after it was allocated Sh170m which the DP promised to push to be raised to Sh300m for the benefit of more households in the area.

Among the roads that have been revived are Barwesa-Kinyach-Kolowa, Chemolingot-Kapedo-Lokori and Barpelo-Tot-Sigot-Marich Pass that are set to open up the area to economic development.

The government will also construct affordable houses in Chemolingot town and hostels for Chemolingot KMTC and North Rift Technical Vocational College in the town.

“Every part of the country will benefit from the national resources as it should be,” DP reiterated.

The DP also defended the empowerment initiative saying it targets giving a shot in the arm for women and youth groups in need of support to expand their hustles.

“This is the time to stand with the citizens of Kenya not to wait for campaigns to support them,” he noted.
