Speaking at Gatituri Chief's Office during the distribution of office furniture to sub-chiefs across Manyatta Constituency, Mukunji cautioned against the continued use of security agencies to intimidate or harass government critics.
He said true reconciliation demands more than financial payouts — it requires ending the practice of labelling dissenting voices as terrorists.
“Compensation should not come alongside intimidation,” the MP said, noting that many Kenyans have suffered for simply speaking out against government actions.
Mukunji also called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to probe the alleged loss of billions of shillings through the E-Citizen platform, insisting that the public deserves to know who is behind the discrepancies in a system designed to fight corruption. He proposed that government service payments revert to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to enhance transparency and accountability.
On national security, the MP voiced concern over reports that the US Senate may reconsider Kenya’s designation as a major non-NATO ally over alleged government links with extremist groups such as Al-Shabaab and Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
He urged a thorough investigation into individuals reportedly supplying military equipment to the RSF, warning that Kenya’s sovereignty must not be compromised by internal or external interests.
