Chinese real estate developer Henbon has
launched a new residential project in Westlands, Nairobi, targeting young
professionals and middle-income buyers.
The project, named Diamond Bay Suites,
consists of one- and two-bedroom apartments and will be Henbon’s sixth
development in Nairobi. Units are priced from Ksh.8.8 million.
Nairobi’s housing market continues to grow,
driven by rapid urbanisation, a rising middle class and wider access to
mortgage financing.
Analysts expect rental returns in Westlands
to increase slightly in 2025, attracting both home-seekers and investors.
Kenya currently faces an annual housing
shortage of about 200,000 units, with the overall deficit estimated to exceed
two million homes, leaving many young households unable to afford suitable
housing.
Property experts note that apartment blocks
and mixed-use developments targeting mid-income buyers will continue to
dominate Nairobi’s real estate market as developers address changing
demographic and economic demands.
Diamond Bay Suites adds to the growing number
of projects catering to urban professionals seeking smaller, modern homes
within city limits.
